In 2020, The CE Group, Pear Analytics, and the San Antonio Business Journal, born from what we saw as a huge need in our community, launched a Community Calendar as a service for the nonprofit community. For nonprofit organizations, the calendar enables the showcasing of events to the business community, and helps nonprofits plan their events based on when other events are scheduled. For all business community leaders, the calendar can be a tool to reference when considering support for specific nonprofits whose missions inspire them.

Additional goals are to enhance the ability of nonprofits to raise funding and bring wider audiences to their causes. When the COVID-19 crisis hit the city of San Antonio, it made the calendar even more relevant, as nonprofits were unfortunately forced to deal with postponed events. Our hope is that this resource provides a centralized clearinghouse for what is becoming a crowded event calendar. Nonprofits put so much work into planning and executing vital fundraising events, but there are only so many places that donors can be at one time. With that in mind, one of the worst things that can happen to a nonprofit is another event happening on the same day as theirs that draws away all the donors. That’s what this calendar is designed to do. However, it only works if nonprofits like yours list your events.

The newest iteration of the calendar includes the ability to list initiatives such as fundraisers or campaigns that organizations are hosting on behalf of or benefitting nonprofits. Whether the format be virtual, in-person, or hybrid, we are delighted to provide this addition to serve as a marketing means to aid in addressing increased needs and decreased funding that has plagued so many organizations.
